Okay, I admit it: between the back-to-school shuffle, re-claiming the Kitchen Hour, and my new, much earlier bedtime (my eyeballs basically close of their own accord at 9:30 PM these days) I’ve not had much time for reading over the last week. So if you’ve read an inspiring quote about life or motherhood lately, I’d love it if you’d share, and I’ll edit this post and add in some of the best over the next few days (crediting you, of course!)
EDITED: Wanted to add a few gems that readers have left in the comments!
- Check out Tragic Sandwich’s post on words of wisdom from mothers. Some great ones here and I have a whole new list of books to add to my Kindle list.
- Love this Roseanne Barr quote, shared by Mary: ““There’s a lot more to being a woman than being a mother, but there’s a hell of a lot more to being a mother than most people suspect.”
Thanks all and keep ’em coming!
I’d also love to know if you’ve read any great contemporary literature dealing with motherhood lately. I love these classics I’ve been into recently, but I fear soon I’m going to forget it’s 2011 and start wearing hoop skirts if I don’t mix it up a bit.
Thanks, and I hope you’re having a lovely week!
