If I’m quieter than usual over the next month or so, here’s why:
I’m working with Parenting magazine on a book about happier motherhood, to be published next spring!
This book truly feels like the culmination of everything I’ve been wanting to say about motherhood since I started writing on the topic. Why happiness matters, to us and to our kids. How to be more confident, more relaxed, more focused on what matters. How to keep from getting in your own way. How to take care of yourself so you can take better care of your kids. I’m so grateful to all the readers who’ve stayed with my blog over the last year and helped me shape my ideas as I worked through them here. I know your comments and suggestions will help me make this book as helpful as it can be, and I look forward to keeping you all updated about my progress!
On a similar note, here’s some other great news…I’m excited to announce that I’m co-authoring a book with “The Zen Organizer” Regina Leeds, creator of the “One Year To An Organized…” series. Our book, One Year To An Organized Life With Baby will be released next winter. It takes women through pregnancy and through the first several months after giving them birth, helping them to manage all the details, paperwork, and STUFF that comes along with having a child. I’ve learned a lot from Regina while working on this book and I think it’s going to be a fabulous resource for expecting and new moms.
So…whew! Two books in one summer. I’m going to be a busy woman, so I do apologize if my blog gets a teeny bit neglected while I’m buried in deadlines. But I’ll come out on the other side before long, and can’t wait to share the results with you guys. Thanks for hanging in there!
P.S.: I’ve updated my Heather Armstrong interview post to announce the winners of the HGTV swag.
P.P.S. If you email me over the next month or so and for any reason don’t hear back, please give me a nudge? I expect to be fairly insane for a few weeks and would hate for anyone to fall through the cracks.
Thanks, and I’ll see you on the other side.
Man, I wish I’d been your neighbor when I was a young mom…I was NOT happy and it was hard…still weathering some storms that I think may stem from those early years…book is much needed as is the message.
Woohoo! That’s a lot of writing, but it sounds fabulous. I’m so happy for you and your books. 🙂
