Time to grow: your garden, your ideas, your writing…

by Meagan Francis on March 15, 2012

With the absolutely beautiful weather we’re having this week, spring, renewal, and growth are on my mind. How about you? Are you feeling eager to get your hands in the dirt, or roll up your sleeves and tackle some dreams that are ready to thaw out after the winter chill?

I’ve got a few cool things to share with you today that all have to do with revitalization and growth (of one kind or another):

Grow Your Garden: I’m very excited to announce that I’m a contributor to the new HGTV blog, HGTVGardens! I’m mostly writing about veggie and herb gardening right now, but will be writing on lots of topics as the blog grows. Come on over and check it out.

Grow Your Big Idea: My friend Judi Ketteler has brought together an amazingly talented group of people including writer Jeff Goins, fabric designer Amy Butler, TV personality Angelo Surmelis, and mind-body expert and author Kate Hanley to create a FREE virtual teleconference that can help you build your big ideas into even bigger realities, stay true to your vision, inspire others, write, publish, and act on your dreams. I’m honored to have been asked to be a part of this conference, and you can register here for free to listen in on all nine interviews, including my phone chat with Judi which will air at 2 PM EST on Tuesday, March 20. Sign up now!

Grow Your Writing: Just a reminder that I will be accepting a handful of mentoring clients this spring, and am also offering several self-paced writing courses for moms: a perfect introduction into the world of professional writing. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

It’s warming up out there, and I’m feeling ready to shake off the rest of this latent late-winter sluggishness and really grow my ideas, my inspiration, my writing…and some broccoli, too! I hope you’ll join me one way or the other.

Today, I was walking the 2 yr. old to pick the 6 yr. old up for school…inspired of course, by the warm weather in MI b/c usually I drive. Anyway, on the way I could not stop writing in my head. I came home and wrote today’s post pretty quickly. I’ve been wanting to do more “writing” posts as opposed to pictures but haven’t felt inspired. I think the walking, the warm weather & being with the kiddos made it really easy to do. Anyway, I’m hoping to keep plugging away on a book I’m working on and the idea of GROWING and planting ideas is really meaningful to me right now. I’ll check out your links on writing…sounds interesting. Have a great day! =)
